The 2024 election resulted in a Republican trifecta with control of the presidency, house and senate. The GOP expanded their majority in the Senate, picking up seats in Montana, Ohio and West Virginia and narrowly avoiding contentious losses in Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin. The Republicans retained control of the House, holding all incumbents and flipping only three seats. The President-elect Trump will be able to pass new legislation through Congress because of their majority in the House and Senate.
